Celebrating 24 Months

Aubrey and I celebrated our 24-Month Anniversary yesterday, with a day out in nature. After church, we drove out to Lake DeGray, and had a picnic. DeGray was close, and convienient for a picnic, but there's not much action. Well, there was a neat stump, but that's it.

After me making a fool out of myself, it was her turn up on the stump, but she needed a boost. So, I pushed her (up) and she fell (over), almost into the water. She's got a pretty serious scrape on her back, from where she landed on solid rock. What can I say? I'm an idiot. (Smooth way to start the date... right?)

Then I took her all the way out to Lake Hamilton, in Hot Springs. Hamilton has this great park set up out by a dam, leading to Lake Catherine.

We spent the afternoon exploring all the walking trails, and walking the rocky shoreline. I'm not any good at skipping rocks, by the way. Aubrey managed to spot at least two carcasses before long, you can see how lovely her reactions were to them.

We had a blast. After the exploring, we played cards on a picnic table, and said goodbye to the water. We dropped by her old Hot Springs house on the way to dinner, which was on the other side of Hot Springs.

To finish off a day at the lake, I picked, Seafood. Here's Aubrey in front of the sign before we left.

Have any of ya'll ever been to either one of these lakes? I'd love to go back, but I don't know any good places to take her, besides these re-runs. Post a comment and help me out.

I hope that she had as much fun as I did, because there's nothing better than a day at the lake(s) with your girl. What a blast. What a girl.
